Dear Pet Lover

In 1978 I founded a direct sales company whose products are educational toys, books, and games, and whose mission is to help parents understand that play is the language of love for children.

At the time, I was frustrated by my inability to find "just the right products" for my baby daughter Tara. I grew Discovery Toys from my garage in Martinez, California to $100,000,000 in sales. Seeing an opportunity to expand internationally in a major way, I sold the company to Avon in 1997. As happens in so many acquisitions things did not work out as I expected and I decided to retire in 1999.

Until… my daughter, now grown and graduated with a Masters in Psychology, brought home my first "Grand dog" - a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Jade. Just as I did when Tara was small, I went shopping for all the best possible products to insure Jade's health and happiness. After all, our pets are extremely important members of our family! Not finding the type of products I wanted for Jade, and certain that I could develop perfect products for our companion animals, I founded a new direct selling company – Petlane, products for discriminating pets and the people they love.

I chose the direct sales model once again, because in the process of doing intense research, I discovered I knew a lot less about my beloved pets than I thought I did. I wanted to share some of the potentially life changing information I unearthed with everyone! Secondly, direct selling is the only entrepreneurial business I know that allows people to make an unlimited income and obtain the lifestyle they want to have, get tons of free training, business support and coaching, with a minimal investment and no risk.
